How long will I be at the chapel, and how long will my ceremony take?
We usually recommend that you plan on being at the Chapel for about 45 minutes to an hour. The wedding officiant will sit down with the couple privately to complete the marriage license, and collect your payment while your guests are seated in the ceremony area. We will then conduct your ceremony! The exciting part! The wedding officiant will ask you ahead of time what things you might like to include in your ceremony during the private meeting as well! The ceremony generally will take 10-15 minutes, and afterwards we allow you and your guests some time to visit, and of course, take LOTS of pictures
What is my deposit for, and is that refundable?
The ceremony retainer is placed to reserve your date and your time and your officiant at our wedding chapel. We cannot place you on the schedule until the deposit is placed. The good news is that your deposit is credited towards your balance! The balance is always due the day of your ceremony, before the wedding officiant completes your paperwork. Please note that our deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Can I come see the chapel or meet with my wedding officiant prior to booking?
You absolutely can visit the Chapel prior to your wedding. Our chapel is located inside the building at 1060 East Main Street. You are welcome to schedule an appointment for a short tour.
Can I bring my own decorations?
Unfortunately not. We have the chapel pre-decorated for you as it appears in all the photos. We provide chair covers, seasonally colored sashes, and some small decorations for the altar, as well as a unity candle. You are more than welcome to bring any unity ceremony of your choice, however. Sand ceremonies are very popular.
Am I welcome to bring my own pastor or officiant?
Absolutely. However, it does not effect the cost.
How do I get my marriage license? Do you turn it back in for me?
Your marriage license must be obtained the county in which one of the couple resides. The most common counties we service in the Chapel is Marion County, Hendricks County, and Johnson County, though we service all of Indiana. You can see the requirements for obtaining a marriage license HERE . In the state of Indiana, there is no waiting period to get married after receiving your marriage license. The state of Indiana also requires no witness to the ceremony, other than the wedding officiant that solemnizes the license. Once the ceremony is completed, the Wedding Officiant will walk you thru the process of returning your license. It can be returned by you, or the Officiant will also offer to return the document for you.
